For BPL aka LOOP mobile subscribers, surfing the internet over their mobiles is free [at least for 1 year after activation]. The settings below are the tried and tested as on April 2009. Use these settings in your connections settings where you have to define a new access point name [APN]. Once you have successfully established the WAP connection after going through the below mentioned settings, you can tether the phone to your PC and surf net on it!! Just note that whichever browser you use, in its connection settings put
PROXY Server Address: 10.0.0.10
Click on the Highlighted option of One touch Access. The following screen will show up:
The highlighted button is used to Disconnect or Connect to internet. After your connection is established, Open any of your favorite browsers like Opera or Mozilla Firefox.
In Firefox Menu Bar, go to Tools>>Options>>Advanced>>Network>>Settings. Now do the settings as shown in the image below and click OK.
You are Done. Now you can use Free unlimited internet in Firefox.
The Configuration for Opera is Set Up as follows:
In Menu Bar, go to Tools>>Preferences>>Advanced>>Network>>Proxy Servers. Now do the settings as shown in the image below and click OK.
Thus you can use you free BPL WAP service as unlimited Internet service for your Computer/PC.
UPDATE:
I found out that some of you are having problems connecting to the Internet with the above method,So here is one more method for you.
Step 1: Go to Control Panel >> Network Places and Create a Dial up connection, using your Mobile.
Step 2: When being asked about the UserName and Password, Type +91…(your BPL Phone number) and Password as bplmmsc
Step 3: Keep the Dialling number as *99# and press Connect.
For Samsung Corby users, the settings are a bit different. Please check the comments posted below by ‘Ashay’ who has kindly posted working settings for Corby users.

i tried your bpl wap settings on my friends computer ,there it is working fine but on my pc it gives me error messag as”Failed to established network connection”
i think it may be because at my home i get full connection(all four network sticks) but tower names keeps on changing rapidly.
and another thing i have found that whenever i connect my phone to any other pc, synchronization start automatically and on my phone i get message regarding it. But on my pc synchronization doesn’t start automatically and for manual synchronization it gives warning that microsoft outlook profile is not present.

The settings provided in the post are 100% correct, the thing is that you have the input fields named differently different for different phones.
Could you reply back with what details you entered in your phone with the specific field names
eg: server (proxy) – 10.0.0.1
Something like the above, so I could guide you on this.

I taken a prepaid bpl connection, DusKa Gang ( ***** *****). In that, I can able to surf unlimited ( Wap sites ) upto april 2009. But, from the date of taking this connection I am facing a problem.
I can able to surf any wap sites. OK. But suppose If am opening any applications ( not Wap sites) like ebuddy, SBI Freedom, Skype chat, Google chat,… I am getting error message either “PACKET DATA NOT AVAILABLE” or ” LINK NOT AVAILABLE” or “SERVER CONNECTION LOST”
I contact NOKIA Customer care ( bcoz I am using Nokia 6270 mobile ), and discussed them about this, they told me that this model mob will support any applications, but your mobile service provider should give u the full version of the wap / gprs. U confirm that it is a demo OR full version.
Then I contact bpl / loop again and asked them about this demo & full version. Bpl/loop is telling, they will provide only full version. they never provide demo version.
What I want to do to solve my problem ?
My friend is also hv a prepaid bpl no. . but he can able to access any wap sites and any applications. the only difference is that, i am accessing sites using a free provision ( without any charge) from bpl upto April 2009. but my friend is using a monthly Rs.49/- scheme, otherwise every thing is same.

BPL unlimited WAP works in Dus Ka Gang. I had the Nokia 6270 once, nice handset but the problem is that it is JAVA OS. The operating system is Java and it is pretty closed i.e. it does not allow applications to directly access the network or the phone files unless and until the user says YES each and every time. Try your SIM on any symbian phones with the same applications as you mentioned above, it will work.
Also many applications have a very Strict (but stupid) requirement that it should be GPRS and not WAP. Since by saying WAP it means limited usage and restricting your usability experience.
Do one thing, tell me your friends Handset number, also let me know if you were using these apps on 6270 itself before April?

The thing is as you might have read in the comments above there is another person also asking for the same. The WAP works, but you have to specifically configure that. I have a friend who has done it, my xams going on so will enquire with him later. Keep checking here, who knows someone who already knows might post it as a comment!!

In Connectivity there is packet data, in which there is 1- Packet Data( when needed & Always online) 2-Packet Data settings, in which- 1-Active access point (there are aceess point 1 to 10) & 2- edit active access point access pt., in which- 1)Alias for access point & 2-Packet Data acc. pt..
ANd when i go to web/ settings/configurations settings it says “no settings found. contct your service provider”.
All this i found. I was using Nokia 6270 before this one.

2-Packet Data settings > GO DIRECTLY TO 2- edit active access point > GO THEN TO 2-Packet Data acc. pt. .

Even i was suffering from that problem, what you have to do is just FORMAT your phone. Ya, i know it’s tooo mush, but it works.
It worked for me. Before you format your phone you should take a backup of your phone, so that you can restore the content as soon as your format is done!

If you have BPL connection, then this wont cost you anything.
It works on any mobile, just that depending on the handset, the way you enter your settings, is different.

You will first have to get ‘Nokia PC Suite’. Google the term and you will get the download links. In that there is ‘ One Touch Connection’. just follow the connections on screen and you are good to go.

Telling you frankly, there is no trick there. And whoever tells you there is one, is just fooling you.. What you are getting is already quite a bit, my friend just gets 7-8 kbps.

For BPL GPRS on java based applications u need a setting named”NOKIA JAVA PROXY” which works on every Java enabled phones of nokia series 40 i used on my 6300 series(3110c,5200,5300,….etc)! this setting can be downloaded just put JAVA PROXY SETTINGS for nokia in google u’ll get a link to download its jst 2363 bytes settings not even 1kb

Try searching a zip file named – JAVANokiaProxy.zip on internet.
This file contains .prov files (ie. Wap settings) for nokia for bpl n airtel.using these settings u can access gprs using applications (like operamini,160by2,nimbuzz…. ) only.(phone browser doesnt work with these settings) Even this reply is given from operamini 4.2 (nokia 630
handset). Search it. I dont remember the site.

well if google is opening and other sites are not, then probably it is accessing from it’s cache. Check ur proxy settings.

I managed to make the correct configuration provision file for my supernova and xpressmusic (both s40v3+).Your earlier comments of this post and your other post are both obsolete about these java settings. they give settings compatible with older phones like 6270, etc.. not 7210suprnova and such.
I managed to find the new format and have created an app that can create these ‘.prov’ file directly from the network settings (like you have given) for any network(not just loop) and any s40v3+ phone as well as some sony ericcson models and android too.

If it states that it requires proxy then enter the proxy server and port, and then you are done!

The settings I have mentioned are no trick, they are legitimate settings provided by BPL itself, the only problem there is they are not publicly declaring these settings until now.
If you got the msg stating that free WAP is over, then probably it might be.
Also, which DusKaGang are you using? the WAP is still free for the initial DusKaGang users, the ones who are facing the problem are the newer users for the ‘Freetalk ka Gang’, ‘NIghttalk ka gang’, etc.

The particular problem you mentioned, might be restricted to your particular handset, try updating your phone’s firmware to possibly rectify your problem.

Connecting to Yahoo messenger is not possible as it does not have the proxy settings config. These settings are required for an software to connect via BPL WAP.

It means that you already have the settings file, although it might not be the one you need. The reason you are getting the error is because your phone has already reached the maximum no. of settings file it can save. You delete all the existing GPRS settings file [ nowadays you get pre-loaded settngs for idea, vodafone,etc.] and then try the whole process again.

Thanks for the encouraging reply. The problem you are facing, the same one even I am facing. The problem is not on your side, it is the LOOP service that is SHITTY. The only pragmatic solution I found to this is to try reconnecting as many times as you can or try after a period of time. I personally think that it is due to network congestion.

Until 10 days back i was able to use the internet absolutely fine, however only since past 3 days i am charged for my usage, and the money is deducted from my prepaid account each time i use the internet. I got a message from BPL a couple of days back stating : “Due to less balance your mobile internet access has ben bared. Kindly recharge to continue enjoying this facility.” I got this msg when my balance was Rs. 2 and they started charging me after i recharged following this msg. Please could you help me get back with the free settings.

Don’t use the settings file directly. Use the manual settings. If they don’t work at first try tweaking around as the wording might be different. Post here if you get it working!

But when i try to send JAVAProxy.wml JAVAProxy.prov: files via bluetooth
it just saves the file no settings appear, and i cannot connect to java softwares like facebook, opera etc…..
Can you tell me how can i operate these softwares
