First of all, a pat on the back is in order for reaching the venerable age of 63. This in spite of the fact that we are surrounded by specious countries which are democratic or trying to be, which do not generally have a favourable opinion of India. But, it also helps that we are were pretty domineering.

In our 62 years as a democratic nation, we have reached astounding heights achieved the unthinkable, did the impossible in very diverse but interlinked fields like science And technology, agriculture, political reforms, judiciary, business, industries, export, roadways, defence, research and development, and on and on….

India in spite of being one of the newer countries on the world map, just 63 years old and yet placed its indelible mark in varied ways amongst the hallowed names of countries which are enjoying their freedom for a relatively longer time.

Yes, we do have a lot to improve, we need to shore up in all respects mentioned above and some more. But this is not the time to crib, this is the time to rejoice. Rejoice in the glory that is India. And all it’s gifts: innumerable that they are, make us feel very proud to be proud to be part of the nation that is going to usher the world in the next wave of techno and economical boom.

The third part in the trilogy is a decent flick. Nonetheless, this movie is not at the same level as the first two movies. Considering the number of movies this ‘Mummy’ series has given birth to (5 in all):

The Mummy 1,2,3 and the Scorpion King 1,2.

And also noting the fact that without the lead actress Rachel Weisz who the audiences have identified with the movies, not being a part of the ensemble cast this time around; it is worth a watch.

My rating: 6/10

Opinion: Watch if you don’t have anything else.

Ya, I know I am late on the whole John Grisham bandwagon. But, since I read the book now, i thought it pertinent to write the review as I really liked the book ( I haven’t watched the movie yet!)

The Firm, is a relentless thrilling adventure, which does not give up it’s pace even for a second.

It is a story about a young lawyer (no surprises there; since Grisham, hence legal non-fiction) top-of-his-class kinda guy, who gets offered a job of his lifetime at a relatively unknown firm-Bendini in small town Memphis. This firm, Bendini has some great lawyers, but also ir relatively uknown outside the small town. The Firm offers the young lawyer Mitchell Y. McDeere an offer of his lifetime with cheap loans, cars, house, very good pay,etc.

Once he joins the firm, then he finds out other things and so on…

The book is really good as I think the movie is too. Going to watch it soon.

Another thing I would like to add as an Engineer is that Grisham explained properly and LOGICALLY how the Firm goes on about bugging the associates houses. Generally, you find that a guy ( any hooded guy) places a black bug-like-thing in the ventilator, telephone,etc and then goes on about listening till he gets tired. Now what they don’t bother to explain is how the heck is that chip going to transmit the data to the guy without a power source!! It’s silly, but i just wanted to mention it.

Goal! 3: Taking on the World is the third part of the football film trilogy Goal!, directed by Steve Renolds, written and produced by Mike Jefferies from the first two Goal films. Unlike its two predecessors, this film did not have a theatrical release and was instead on June 15, 2009, released straight to DVD and Blu-ray in the UK.

My View:

The movie series started off with a bang, I liked Goal 1 a lot – it showed the underdog rising in the form of Santiago Muniez, then we move on to the second part Goal 2! where we see him play for Real Madrid, that showed how sudden rise to power and fame can corrupt the best of people, even with noblest of intentions.

But, Goal 3! takes the movie to  a whole new nadir, here we were expecting to see further developments in the Santiago story, but what we get to see is this footballer who incidentally does not get to play football in the movie where he is the lead, and the game is left to 2 new characters who nobody bothers. I don’t understand why call this movie Goal 3, when the lead character you are building up over two  movies does not get to play.

The Movie Production:

HOPELESS!!! you just see a few stills of the movie and compare with the first movie and you will immediately know, why there should have been only two movies instead of three. Also proves why it is a ‘straight to DVD’ release.

Conclusion:

Not worth the watch. Especially, if you have enjoyed the first two!!!
